I came across this really interesting post the other day called Uncle! Why I Quit Following Chris Brogan. In the post the, Scott Hepburn says, the best posts will still find me. And that got me thinking.
One of the great things about social media, is people's willingness to share things that are really good. If its good, and people like it, they share it. I hate to say it goes viral, because that is something else. I am talking about the sharing and spreading good and useful content.
If its good content it always seems to find me through email, Twitter, Facebook, it always finds me.

You're talking about a concept I frequently talk about: social proof.
I think Dan Schawbel mentioned it in a blog last summer and I've used since. Namely, if something's worth knowing, it will reach you. Such as why, I'm betting, you know the relevancy of the name Janis Krums without ever having read his blog or tweets. Am I right? Social proof.
I agree with the general point, but I'm still not going to stop following Chris Brogan. ;)
Do I read every blog post he writes? No - he's so prolific that could take up most of one's day - but I'm sure to watch which ones are shared the most and then I check those out.
